Susan Atwood (born June 5, 1953) is an American former swimmer, who won two medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany.[2] Before those Olympics, she held the world record in the 200 metre backstroke,[3] though her record was broken by gold medalist Melissa Belote in Munich.
Atwood was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1992.[4]
